Hi! I am Ilgın. ︎ ︎ ︎
Ilgın Uçar (b. 1996, Turkey) is a Berlin-based artist and MA student in Art in Context at the Universität der Künste Berlin. She works with found or obsolete objects, gestures of labor and boredom, and fragmented stories to trace conditions of in-betweenness: between function and dysfunction, value and devaluation, past and future. These thresholds are where she creates a space of reflection and play.
She graduated from Anadolu University, Eskişehir (Faculty of Fine Arts, 2019). After moving to Berlin, she worked as a production assistant at Uferhallen and later at Studio Hanniball Gallery. Alongside her practice, Ilgın works as a student tutor at UdK Berlin, supporting seminars with and developing participatory formats that create dialogue with audiences.
